Longwood Gardens is one of the world's premier horticultural displays. Founded by Pierre du Pont in 1906, Longwood combines horticulture, architecture, theatre, and music into a unique garden experience. On your visit to Philadelphia, be sure to include a scenic drive into the countryside to see the renowned mansions and beautiful gardens of the du Pont family, one of America’s most prominent families and founders of one of America’s most successful corporations. Plan to tour three of their magnificent homes – Winterthur Museum & Country Estate, Hagley Museum and Library, and Longwood Gardens.
