The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art is the foundation upon which Sarasota’s art scene has been built. The institution was established in 1927 as a gift to the people of Florida and features a 21-gallery art museum, the Ca' d'Zan mansion, the Ringlings' mansion, the historic Asolo Theatre, and two Circus Museums with the Tibbals Learning Center. Additionally, dozens of performing arts centers, including the nationally recognized Sarasota Opera House, historic architecture, fine dining, and visual art displays can be found throughout the city. There’s not much that can rival the city’s art pedigree for top billing. However, Siesta Beach holds its own having recently been voted the number one beach in the USA.
