Vermont

vermont2It’s been said that for everything there is a season. In Vermont you’ll discover a season for everything. In spring choose from over 60 farmer’s markets and fill your basket with straight-from-the-farm produce and fresh cut flowers. Each fall, the landscape is painted with vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow providing hiking and biking (and even car-riding) “leaf peepers” with a wonderful show. When the colors of fall turn white from winter snow you can ski or snowboard 5,972 acres of alpine or attend one of the various winter festivals including The Green Mountain Film Festival in Montpelier. Summer in Vermont means camping, boating, hiking and all things outdoors, including live music and art festivals. The Cultural Traveler tour Eclectic Elegance & Country Treasures visits the Shelburne Museum and its American and Impressionists paintings, while Made in Vermont covers all Vermont-produced goods including the glass studios at Simon Pearce.

St. Augustine, Florida

StAugustine thumbIt seems fitting that The Fountain of Youth was discovered in St. Augustine since the city understands what it takes to stay relevant. America’s Oldest City provides today’s cultural travelers with exciting events such as a $3 million exhibit featuring 39 of Pablo Picasso’s rarely seen masterpieces. The exhibit, which runs February-May 2013, will be held at the St. Augustine Visitor Information Center which has just received over $1 million in updates. Learn how St. Augustine embraces its historical roots on the St. Augustine History & Heritage Tour. Walk the narrow brick streets to various museums, performing arts centers, and cultural landmarks. Or learn why St. Augustine is a golfers paradise and take a tour of the 35,000 square foot World Golf Hall of Fame on the St. Augustine History of Golf Tour.

Savannah, Georgia

AfAmericanThe streets and squares that make up Savannah are rich with history, art and tradition. The city’s story embraces an exciting past filled with ghosts, black heritage, and the Civil War, while offering a present day menu of shopping, dining and entertainment. Learn about the city’s historic roots on the African American History Tour, or the History, Heritage and Legends Tour. The entire family will enjoy The Kidding Around Tour which provides access to kid-friendly museums and adventures. Hungry? Take the Savannah Cooks Tour and give your taste buds a lesson in Southern cooking. Don’t miss the Arts & Entertainment Tour which includes admission to the renowned Telfair Museum of Art and a "movie set location" tour of the city.

Sarasota, Florida

Sarasota ThumbThe John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art is the foundation upon which Sarasota’s art scene has been built. The institution was established in 1927 as a gift to the people of Florida and features a 21-gallery art museum, the Ca' d'Zan mansion, the Ringlings' mansion, the historic Asolo Theatre, and two Circus Museums with the Tibbals Learning Center. Additionally, dozens of performing arts centers, including the nationally recognized Sarasota Opera House, historic architecture, fine dining, and visual art displays can be found throughout the city. There’s not much that can rival the city’s art pedigree for top billing. However, Siesta Beach holds its own having recently been voted the number one beach in the USA.
